One significant philosophy of Japanese management is People run the company, not the management. Management is the company's flag carrier. Each member of the WIN consulting team has experienced, with American companies or Japanese invested companies, the difficulties involved with explaining, convincing and putting into practice that philosophy.

Offering strategic plan and implementation development and support for rules, procedures, manuals, employment plans, and policies for start-up companies. WIN consultants have practical experience in handling cases of this sort for over 20 years.
Conducting opinion surveys--reflecting our approach of Fitting the Survey to the Case. With American partners, WIN has used surveys to gather information to support root cause analysis of management problems. In addition, in some cases, we recommend using this tool to identify the exact nature of the problem without revealing any pre-conceived ideas of where the problem lies.
Supporting company restructuring. At times, companies require restructuring to create renewed energy for growth and enhancing management teams. In these situations, WIN works as an advisor to management. We act as a sounding board for management plans, offer a critical perspective to help ensure validity of proposed strategies and suggest additional choices and potential resolutions for clients.
Developing strategies for working with or preventing unions. We offer practical strategy and realistic counsel in union-related situations.

Satoshi Egawa
Satoshi Egawa has over 20 years of management experience in product development, production control, global procurement and sales with one of the leading Japanese suppliers of the automotive industry. In that company's American operations in Tennessee, he was instrumental in the implementation of the new car production facility, lean production system, and procurement activities. Based on this experience, Mr. Egawa knows first-hand how to resolve issues arising from the differences in Japanese and U.S. cultures.
Mr. Egawa used that knowledge as a Chief Consultant of JMAC (Nihon Noritsu Kyokai), the leading Japanese work efficiency improvement and management consulting firm. At JMAC, he worked with over 20 American and Japanese companies, including Cummins, Epson and Genie. For those companies, he identified problems, analyzed performance and provided solutions in the areas of plant management, labor and equipment productivity.
Mr. Egawa’s work resulted in high levels of efficiency with regard to labor and equipment productivity. However, there remained a missing element to achieving top quality and efficiency. In the final analysis, Mr. Egawa concluded that "good work standards are not enough. Qualified managers are required to use appropriate management tools to reach the highest levels of productivity." The companies then asked Mr. Egawa to help them find qualified managers.
This experience provides Mr. Egawa a unique base from which to offer consulting services. His perspective is that of one who has learned first-hand what it takes for a company to reach its goals from start-up.
Mr. Egawa has also presented seminars to professional associations in the Japanese-American business community. Subjects he has researched and covered in these seminars include human resources trends, hiring practices and building vendor relationships.
